With industry rollups becoming an increasingly common practice, it is not as much about an agent opting for another carrier, but about a carrier leaving an agent. iTrust Advisors was formed based on personal relationships and value propositions centered around improving the landscape for individual agents and their practices.
Leadership
Robert Sansone
Bob’s insurance career began in 1971 as an agent with Mutual of New York (MONY). As his practice evolved he became a consistent Top 50 and then Top 10 producer within the company. In 1995 the company appointed him as the manager of their Syracuse, NY operation. After completing an operational turn‐around in that sales office Bob was offered a corporate position in New York. He held this corporate officer role until AXA took over the MONY Group in 2004. While with AXA Bob served on a team focused on the expansion of AXA’s high end producer network through various acquisition and recruiting strategies…..a position he held until the formation of iTrust Advisors LLC. Bob used his collective experience as a navigational guide to build iTrust Advisors LLC as a “bottom up” organization to offset the growing depersonalization in the insurance and financial services businesses. Bob and his team’s belief is that success in our business begins and ends with personal relationships….not a transaction.
Today, iTrust Advisors LLC has strategic relationships in approximately 30 states allowing Bob and his strategic partners to leverage their national experience into their hometown Upstate marketplace.
Bob is married to Patricia, his wife of 48 years. They have two children Justin (Jess) and Lauren (Kevin) as well as 4 grandchildren.
Bob currently serves on the Board of Governors at Oak Hill CC and is the Golf Chair. He is also serves on the Jim and Julie Boeheim Foundation Board and the National Coaches vs. Cancer Board, part of the American Cancer Society.
Sam Foti
Throughout his career, Sam has been recognized as a visionary in utilizing technology to create real market advantage. As a long-term consumer of enterprise level technology, he understands the issues and opportunities from a true client perspective. In his current capacity as Chairman of Abbey Technologies, he brings that tremendous business insight to company clients.
Sam began his career at MetLife where he led many of MetLife’s transformation initiatives including the company’s creation of an alternate distribution strategy, its acquisition of Century 21 real estate and the expansion of MetLife’s property and casualty subsidiary.
Sam joined MONY (The Mutual of New York) as the National Director of Agency Operations and held a variety of positions including Chief Marketing Officer, Executive Vice President, and, ultimately, President and Chief Operating Officer. In this capacity Sam played a key role in the demutualization of MONY and its listing on the NYSE. He also engineered multiple innovative growth initiatives including the acquisition of the Advest Group, Lebenthal, and U.S. Financial Life.
Sam has served on numerous Boards including the MONY Group Inc., MONY Life Insurance Company, The Enterprise Group of Funds, LIMRA and The American College, among others. He held the position of Chairman of the Board of both LIMRA and The American College.
Sam received his undergraduate degree from the Wharton School of Business and his masters from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. He also read law at the University of Oxford, Keble College.
Rick Connors
Rick began his career at Metlife and later joined MONY as Vice President where he held various roles including Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer and President of MONY International and MONY Annuities.
Upon AXA’s acquisition of MONY, Rick joined AdminServer as President and CEO. AdminServer was a leading edge platform for product development that was recognized as an industry leader by both Celent and Gartner. When Oracle acquired AdminServer, Rick assumed the role of General Manager of the Oracle Insurance Global Business Unit. In this role he was responsible for integration of a number of Oracle acquisitions into the Oracle platform for insurance.
Rick has an undergraduate degree from Stony Brook University and an MBA from the University of Richmond. He has served on numerous boards including Mony Life Insurance Company of the Americas, the NFL Alumni Association and the University of Richmond.
Vanessa Ott
As the Director of Operations, Vanessa is responsible for relationship building, troubleshooting and problem solving unique or unusual situations for producers we collaborate with. Whether onboarding a new producer or their staff member(s), leveraging carrier connections to obtain timely information for a producer or seek an understanding of a carrier’s decision and asking thought provoking questions that lead to solutions, to support the delivery of service excellence whether it involves contracting, compensation, new business, after issue contract changes, or planning and executing strategic solutions. Her objective is to create opportunities for ease of doing business with iTrust Advisors, so you can leverage your time with clients and prospects, growing your business, professional development or enjoying time with family and friends.
Prior to joining iTrust Advisors, Vanessa was the Assistant Vice President of Customer Service for AXA-Equitable accountable for the MONY and Charlotte Life Contact Centers. Her professional experience in Operations was built on a foundation of learning from the ground up, starting with multiple inforce processing disciplines, then transitioning into management and leadership roles that focused on improving the Customer Experience for both advisors and clients, by streamlining inforce service processing, resolving customer complaints by analyzing the root cause, offering creative solutions within company protocols, and following through with our commitments, working with groups of diverse multi-disciplined teams to plan and execute new technology projects while supporting corporate strategies for The MONY Group and AXA-Equitable.

Zach Davis
A graduate of SUNY Oswego with a degree in Finance and Economics, Zach joined the team in January 2015. As Analytics Manager, he oversees goal oriented permanent insurance quotes and designs, as well as coordinates marketing content with the team.
Anne M. Barry, ACS
Anne has been in the Insurance industry for 43 years. Anne started with MONY and has held
various positions. Anne joined iTrust in 2022 and continues to work with many of the people who used to work at MONY. Anne works with the new business applications process and assists on existing policies as well.
Kaitlyn M. Lynady, ACS, ALMI
Kaitlyn has been in the insurance industry for 15 years. She started her career with Security Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York, where she held various positions and gained her ACS and ALMI from LOMA. In 2023, Kaitlyn moved to the Syracuse area and started working for iTrust Advisors. Kaitlyn’s focus is Contracting and Case Management.
